The game seems stable for the first 5 levels. My system is stable and well kitted out and has no issues with other programs.

I have re-installed the game and even started new gaming session, but it still does the same thing, Thanks a bunch for the advice and the drive monitor, which should hopefully help prevent something like this in the future.I find when I get to level 6 after playing for a short time the game crashes and kicks me back to windows desktop. I apologize to all those who felt like I'd shot their dog when I thought the problem may have been steam related. I've got a ticket open with support but I figure /r/Steam might be able to shed some light on this as well.ĮDIT: Alright, so it turns out my hard disk that was barely a year old just up and died to be icing on the cake of a fairly shitty summer. I'm at a loss and have no idea what to do now. I should add that chkdsk ran automatically one time rebooting and found orphaned files along the lines of GAMEOVER.something-obviously steam related. However, when I go to look under steam in my D drive, everything on the D disappears again. Shouldn't they still be there if I simply repaired steam and didn't uninstall? I stop them from downloading, and go to look for a backup of games in steam's options. I notice that none of my games I had installed were coming up as playable in my library as though they weren't. Steam finally comes up with the login information and all seems well. Reboot, and this time I get the steam setup and run the repair. Reboot, everything is back, didn't even try to open steam but apparently it was running in the processes and pops up with a steam stopped working and then everything is gone from the D again.

Go to launch steam, and it says something about a registry in use and then everything on the D disappears from the desktop again. Next I boot up, everything on my D drive is missing.īoot up again, everything is back. Next thing, I start hearing extremely glitchy sounds and see some weird graphics on the top left of my screen. After several seconds, I can move and I'm connected, but my character won't rotate to my mouse movement, but can shoot so the mouse was connected. As soon as a giant heavy drops, the video freezes and audio skips.
